Date: 7 December 2023 @ 09:00 - 17:00

This workshop is intended to familiarize participants with basic concepts of material characterization such as evaluation of textures and residual stresses in materials from their neutron diffraction patterns. It will include lectures and detailed demonstration of the SteCa software tool to analyse the 2D-detector data of neutron strain scanner STRESS-SPEC and x-ray materials diffractometers, to obtain peak positions, widths, and intensities, which will then be exported and processed to calculate strains/stress and texture. The participants will have the possibility to gain experience in using this software at a beginner’s level and learn to interpret the analytical results on practical examples.
